Cookie

1. Definition of Cookies

Cookies are small text files that websites visited by the user send to and store on the PC, smartphone, laptop or tablet used by that user, to be subsequently retransmitted to the same websites on the next visit. Through cookies, a website remembers the user's actions and preferences (such as login credentials, chosen language, font size, display settings, etc.) so that they do not need to be re-entered each time the user returns to the same website or navigates from one page to another. Cookies are therefore used to perform digital authentication, session monitoring and the storage of information relating to the activities of users accessing a website, and may also contain a unique identification code that allows the user's browsing activity within the website to be tracked for statistical or advertising purposes.

While browsing a website, the user may also receive on their device cookies from websites or web servers other than the one being visited (so-called "third-party cookies"). Such third parties have their own personal data processing policies and privacy notices, which can be consulted directly on their respective websites; users should therefore refer to those directly. Certain operations could not be carried out without the use of cookies, which in some cases are technically necessary for the website itself to function.

There are various types of cookies, depending on their characteristics and functions, and these may remain on the user's PC, smartphone or tablet for different periods of time: so-called session cookies, which are automatically deleted when the browser is closed; and so-called persistent cookies, which remain on the user's device until a predetermined expiry date.

Under applicable law, the use of cookies does not always require the user's express consent. In particular, consent is not required for the installation of "technical cookies", i.e. those used solely for the purpose of transmitting a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary to provide a service explicitly requested by the user. These are, in other words, cookies that are essential for the functioning of websites or necessary to carry out activities requested by the user.

Among the technical cookies that do not require express consent for their use, the Italian Data Protection Authority (see the Provision of 8 May 2014 and the subsequent Cookie Guidelines and Other Tracking Tools of 10 June 2021) also includes:

— technical cookies used for statistical purposes, where used directly by the website operator to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the website; — navigation or session cookies (for authentication purposes); — functionality cookies, which allow the user to browse based on a set of selected criteria (such as language or items selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided.

Profiling cookies, on the other hand — i.e. those designed to build profiles of the user and used to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user while browsing — do require the user's prior consent.

2. Cookies Used by the Website

The Bambino & Partners website (hereinafter the "Website") uses the following cookies:

i. Technical Session Cookies

The use of session cookies is strictly limited to the transmission of session identifiers (consisting of random numbers generated by the server) necessary to enable safe and efficient browsing of the website. The session cookies used on this website avoid the use of other IT techniques that could be detrimental to the privacy of users' browsing activity and do not allow the collection of personally identifiable data. These cookies are processed digitally.

There are additional technical cookies that are essential for the correct functioning of the website. These cookies allow the services requested by users to be provided and enable browsing of the website using its best performance. This type of cookie cannot be disabled as it is necessary for the correct functioning of the website. The use of these cookies does not involve the processing of personal data.

ii. Google Analytics Cookies

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses cookies — text files deposited on your computer — to allow the website to analyse how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie regarding your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored on Google's servers in the United States. Google (acting as an independent data controller) will use this information for the purpose of tracking and examining your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. You may prevent the use of these cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, although this may prevent you from using certain features of the Website.
